Leads to rewarding and demanding work:

Participants are presented with a design task in the first week. The task is based on an real repair which will exercise the candidate’s design and analysis skills. Over successive weeks, candidates are given close guidance and help on methods used to achieve a successful design. During the second half of the course a further task will be provided relating to an aircraft currently in maintenance. In the final week, attendees give a presentation to resident senior design staff on their design. They explain how they arrived at their solution including the manufacturing processes involved, the stress calculations carried out and other features of their design. COURSE WILL BE INTENSIVE AND SO ONLY SERIOUS CANDIDATES SHOULD ATTEND! This course is intended to fill a gap in the employment market and will run over a three to four week period, with theoretical instruction feeding real world practical exercises. As the courses are taking place inside a working company the Course will include evening work to allow access to the CAD machines. This means industry standard applications (Autocad) can be used. Optional Saturday morning sessions will available for anyone wanting additional coaching or practice. InstructorsCourse instructors are experienced designers with much experience in practical applications and instruction.
Employment ExpectationsEmployment opportunities are key to any resettlement decisions, in recognition of this, Marshall will recruit directly from the courses. Additionally Eagle Engineering Services Ltd will provide resettlement guidance and work to help to work to place other candidates who attend the course at no additional cost. Course FeedbackThe CAD & Design principles courses are finishing with candidates receiving, and accepting, offers of employment. We did advise that the course would be intensive, a warning endorsed by the attendees who were fully stretched to complete the Design Projects, the backbone of the course, which enabled them to show off the Computer Aided Design Skills they had learnt over the preceding weeks. Despite the hard work, with some attendees literally “burning the midnight oil” to ensure they got full value from the course all seemed to enjoy it. Quotes included: “Fantastic course, was very hard work but that is what I expected. Option for weekend work was a great help”. “Excellent content and instructors” “I found the course to be intensive, focused and very educational” “Excellent course. Valuable experience and challenging” “Brilliant” “Presentations were excellent and covered good level of material. Explained the information very clearly and help always on hand when needed” The attendees are now providing much needed support to programmes including test procedures for on the recovery of two C130s for the Netherlands Air Force, Systems Engineering on an Avionics upgrade to a Military Transport Aircraft and working with test rigs to verify an integrated avionics system. |
